Dunay Badirkhanov

Acting Chairman of the Board of Directors of the public legal entity “Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azercosmos)”  

Dunay Rasim oghlu Badirkhanov was born in 1986. In 2009, he graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of St. Petersburg State University.  

Dunay Badirkhanov, who started working at Azercosmos in 2011 as a specialist in the Low-Earth Orbit Satellite Systems Development Department, worked as a satellite engineer in the Satellite Engineering Sector from 2012 to 2013 and participated in the management of Azerbaijan's first satellite. Until 2016, he worked as the head of the Satellite Operations Group in the Satellite and Terrestrial Systems Department, and from 2016 to 2018, he served as the director of this department.  

By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 4, 2018, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azercosmos.  

Dunay Badirkhanov has been acting as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azercosmos since March 10, 2025, and is a member of the Supervisory Board of the public legal entity "Azerbaijan Transport and Communication Holding".
