Azerbaijan ranks 5th among 101 countries in operational efficiency of internet services
The World Bank's "Business Ready - B-READY 2025" report methodology evaluates countries' development across 10 important topics in 3 areas with a maximum score of 33.33. One of those topics is related to utility services.
The "Operational Efficiency" dimension, where our country ranked 5th among 101 countries with a score of 31.05, was evaluated based on the following 3 factors:
Accessibility – the accessibility, affordability, and quality of internet services provided by an internet provider operating in the area to business customers, and the offering of various internet services separately or as a package.
Maintenance – maintenance frequency, new customer activation time after request, frequency of internet outages or speed drops during the year excluding power outages, and overall reliability.
Financial suitability – also the financial feasibility of the indicators in question for farms.
Our country's high performance in these indicators is the result of systematic and targeted reforms implemented in recent years.
It should be noted that the renewal of the telecommunications infrastructure and the expansion of sustainable internet services across the country, within the framework of the "Online Azerbaijan" megaproject, covering the years 2021-2025 and in which "Aztelekom" LLC, one of the AZCON Holding companies, acts as one of the main operators, directly affected the aforementioned indicator.
