New Agreement Between Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Georgia: BTK cooperation expands
Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), one of the AZCON Holding companies, participated in the panel discussions titled "Development of Railway Infrastructure in Eurasia" within the framework of the 7th International Transport and Logistics Business Forum "New Silk Way" held in Kazakhstan.
During discussions covering topics such as the Middle Corridor, integration of ports and railways, and technological modernization, it was noted that Azerbaijan is no longer just a participant in international transport projects, but also a leader in the region.
As part of the Kazakhstan Transport Week, the heads of the railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia signed an “Action Plan” on eliminating bottlenecks along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
According to the document, improving infrastructure to eliminate bottlenecks, renewing traffic formations and optimizing operational procedures, as well as strengthening coordination between the three countries for the development of the Middle Corridor, maintaining infrastructure and operational efficiency, and being prepared for increasing cargo volumes are identified as priority areas.
Also, the heads of "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC, "Georgian Railways" JSC, and "TCDD Taşımacılık" company of the Turkish State Railways signed a Memorandum of Understanding "On the organization of freight transportation via the Baku - Tbilisi - Kars railway line."
