Record turnover in annual container throughput at Baku International Sea Port

The annual container throughput at Baku International Sea Port has reached 100,000 TEU for the first time. 

This achievement is an indicator of the efficiency of the unified transport management system formed as a result of the merger of the Port of Baku into Azerbaijan Railways CJSC by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated February 25, 2025.  

The integration of seaport and railway operations has allowed for the acceleration of cargo handling processes and the optimization of logistics routes.  The activities of the Unified Transit Center, where several organizations and forwarding companies work together at the Port of Baku in September of this year, also support more flexible implementation of operations at the port and a continuous increase in cargo handling indicators. As a result of the work done, a record level of cargo handling at the port was achieved.
