"The "Online Azerbaijan" project has been successfully completed, and this was one of the most important steps Azerbaijan has taken on the path to digital transformation."

APA-Economics reports that Shahin Babayev, Executive Director of Azerbaijan Transport and Communication Holding, said this at the event titled "Online Azerbaijan: A New Stage in Digitalization”. He noted that the goal of "Online Azerbaijan" was to ensure access to the Internet and digital technologies for everyone in the country, including schools.

"According to UN estimates, 3.7 billion people in the world do not have access to the internet." That's one-third of the world's population. "The UN's global digital compact initiative aims to provide everyone with internet connectivity by 2030," said Sh. Babayev. He also noted that the "Online Azerbaijan" project aims to provide both businesses and households with high-speed, stable, broadband internet through modern technologies in all regions of the country:

"As a result of the joint efforts of many partners, the establishment of a broadband internet network in the country has been achieved. "Of course, we had certain difficulties in this process. The project was implemented in stages and was of strategic importance."

Sh. Babayev emphasized that over the past 4 years, the number of households in Azerbaijan with access to fixed, broadband, high-speed internet has increased 13 times, reaching approximately 3 million: “As a result, the country has been fully covered with stable, broadband internet. "These successes show that the project has not only improved internet infrastructure, but has also been one of the strategic steps shaping the country's digital future."
